Sad News: Cardinals Suddenly Terminates The Careers Of Three Quarterbacks, Because…

The Cardinals are aiming to challenge the norm with Froholdt’s contract extension. After starting all 17 games in his first season with Arizona, Froholdt delivered a strong yet underrated performance, allowing only three sacks and four QB hits while working with multiple starting quarterbacks.

“He just needed to play,” head coach Jonathan Gannon said on Wednesday. “He was fully committed, a team player, very intelligent, very strong, and versatile enough to play several positions. We decided to put him at center, and he excelled.”

Froholdt’s value became even more evident during the eight games he played alongside Kyler Murray after his return, cementing his role as a key long-term piece of the offensive line.

A knee injury during training camp tested Froholdt’s resilience, but fortunately, it was a minor issue, allowing him to continue building chemistry with Murray.

“He’s exactly what you want in a Cardinal,” Gannon added. “I’m glad Monti and his team got that done. Froholdt deserves every penny. He’s performed well for us and has more potential to reach. I’m excited to see what he’ll do this year and beyond.”

For Froholdt, the timing of the extension is ideal, helping him focus on the season without the distraction of financial concerns.

“I’m thrilled to dig in, focus on what I need to do, and not worry about the other stuff,” Froholdt said. “Now, I can just focus on football, which is all that really matters. I signed the deal this morning and went straight to practice. It’s a relief to just play at full intensity.”

The extension, reportedly worth $12 million with $8 million guaranteed, comes without putting too much strain on the Cardinals’ budget. The team still has ample cap space, with over $34 million available, one of the highest in the NFL.
