Just In: Jim Unfolds An Incredibly Weird Secrete About The New Voice Of Boston Bruins…

Judd Sirott isn’t entirely new to the Boston Bruins but is now taking on a role in the NESN broadcast booth after spending seven years doing play-by-play commentary for 98.5 The Sports Hub across New England.

“I’m thrilled to work with (Andy) Brick(ley),” Sirott shared during a visit to the NESN booth at TD Garden. “I feel so fortunate to be here.”

Brickley humorously welcomed his new partner and inquired about Sirott’s energy during his audition.

“Energy is never an issue for me,” Sirott explained. “Since I was 13 or 14, I’ve loved hockey and the characters who play it. I’ve always felt that energy. Maybe it’s also how I’m wired to convey the excitement of the game. There’s nothing like it in any sport, translating that from the ice to our microphones and onto the screen.”

For his audition, Sirott was invited to the NESN studio in Watertown, Massachusetts, to call a replay of a Bruins game with Brickley in the green room, watching off a screen.

I was honored to get the call from (chief operating officer) Matt Volk and NESN to audition with you,” Sirott told Brickley. “The game was on January 6, Bruins against the Tampa Bay Lightning. I wanted to bring my knowledge of the team, my ties to the community, and my familiarity with you into the audition, and I hope that came through.”

Despite his experience in hockey play-by-play, Sirott faces new challenges as he transitions from The Sports Hub to NESN.

“In radio, we have to paint the picture,” Sirott said. “But on television, the picture is already there. The challenge is to enhance what viewers see and make it even more compelling.”

Sirott expressed his enthusiasm for working with the NESN production crew, including Brian Zechello, Rose Mirakian, and Pat White, and for the upcoming Bruins season.

“This job is unmatched in the NHL,” Sirott said. “Not only is it with an Original Six team, but also the oldest American franchise in the league. It’s a franchise deeply embedded in the fabric of Boston and New England.”

“I’m a strong believer in people, and that’s what makes this special. Whether at the Garden or on the road, you can see, hear, and feel it. That’s why this is the best job in the NHL.”
