News Update: Scott Servais Confirms The Debut Of A 23 Year Old Outfiielder After …

Seattle, WA – The Seattle Mariners announced today that star outfielder Julio Rodriguez has been activated from the 10-day injured list. The 23-year-old returns to the lineup after missing nearly three weeks with a right high ankle sprain.

Rodriguez suffered the injury on July 21 in a collision with the outfield wall. While initial reports suggested a longer recovery period, the dynamic outfielder showed rapid improvement and was deemed ready to rejoin the team. To make room for Rodriguez, infielder Ryan Bliss has been optioned to Triple-A.

The Mariners are in a tight race for the AL West division lead with the Houston Astros, and Rodriguez’s return is a significant boost. He will serve as the designated hitter tonight against the New York Mets, allowing him to ease back into game action while protecting his ankle. Victor Robles, who has impressed since joining the team in June, will continue to man center field.

Prior to his injury, Rodriguez was heating up at the plate, snapping out of a season-long slump. His return is expected to provide a much-needed spark for the Mariners’ offense.
