Watch: Mike Norvell Nods To The Outstanding Performance Of ‘Jared Verse In…

Former Florida State standout, defensive end Jared Verse, is already making waves at Los Angeles Rams training camp. Known for his aggressive play and impressive skillset, Verse dominated opposing offenses during his two years with the Seminoles. He earned first-team All-American honors in 2023, capping off his collegiate career with a strong showing. Verse finished with 70 tackles, including 21 for a loss, 13 sacks, and several disruptive plays (three pass deflections, two blocked kicks, and two fumble recoveries).

Drafted in the first round (19th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Rams, Verse has wasted no time transitioning to the professional level. His raw strength and power are translating well, and he’s already generating significant buzz.

A recent viral video showcases Verse’s dominance during a joint practice session between the Rams and Dallas Cowboys ahead of their upcoming preseason game. The clip depicts Verse (number 8) facing off against Cowboys offensive tackle Asim Richards (number 76) in a pass-rush drill. Verse absolutely overpowers Richards, potentially jeopardizing the tackle’s roster spot with a powerful move.

Verse’s stellar performance has garnered him recognition as a top contender for the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He even landed the top spot in NFL.com’s preseason projections. Alongside former Seminole Braden Fiske, Verse was drafted to bolster the Rams’ defensive line following the retirement of legendary player Aaron Donald.

Fans can catch Verse and the Rams in action on August 11th, 4:30 PM ET, as they take on the Cowboys in their first preseason game.
