Angels (49-63): Coming off a series win over the Mets, the Angels were sellers at the trade deadline, sending closer Carlos Estévez to Philadelphia and reliever Luis García to Boston. Mike Trout, out since April with a torn meniscus, was recently ruled out for the season after an MRI revealed another tear. The three-time MVP has played in just 44.5% of the Angels’ games since 2021.
Rangers (54-59): The reigning World Champions are five games behind first-place Seattle in the AL West. Corey Seager is batting .380 with five home runs over his last 12 games, including four home runs in his last four. Former Yankee Nathan Eovaldi recently set a franchise record with 43.1 consecutive innings without a walk.
