Secured Deal: 27-year-old defensive tackle made his debut at Patriots training camp wearing jersey No…

The New England Patriots have added a new face to their defensive lineup, signing Josiah Bronson to a contract. The 27-year-old defensive tackle made his debut at Patriots training camp wearing jersey No. 75.

Bronson, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 295 pounds, played college football at the University of Washington. After going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, he signed with the New Orleans Saints. During his rookie season, Bronson appeared in six games for the Saints. However, he was waived by New Orleans and was quickly picked up by the Cleveland Browns. His stint with the Browns was brief, as he played in only one game before being released.

Following his time with Cleveland, Bronson spent the remainder of his rookie year on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. He then joined the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad ahead of the 2022 season. Bronson made one appearance with Miami against the Patriots but was released after the 2023 training camp.

This spring, Bronson played for the Memphis Showboats in the United States Football League (USFL). In 10 games with the Showboats, he recorded 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks. His performance in the USFL caught the attention of NFL teams, leading to his signing with the Patriots.

Bronson’s addition to the Patriots’ roster comes as the team looks to bolster its defensive line. The Patriots are hoping that his experience and recent performance will contribute positively to their defensive schemes.
