JUST IN: Opposing Teams Like Steelers,Patriots are Bidding for 49ers 26-year-old Pro Offensive Machine…

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been the subject of trade rumors for months amid stalled contract negotiations. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Aiyuk has now formally requested a trade from the team.

Aiyuk, 26, recognizes his limited control over the situation as he is set to earn $14.124 million this season and could be prevented from reaching free agency in 2025 through the franchise tag. Despite this, Aiyuk is determined to leave San Francisco.

Aiyuk’s impressive stats include 75 receptions, 1,342 receiving yards, seven touchdowns, and an average of 17.9 yards per reception, according to ESPN.

Prior to his trade request, Aiyuk’s name was frequently mentioned in NFL rumors. Several teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders, showed interest, with the New England Patriots reportedly offering a second-round pick before the 2024 NFL Draft. However, this offer did not meet San Francisco’s expectations.

The 49ers were reportedly seeking the 17th overall pick and additional compensation from the Jacksonville Jaguars for Aiyuk, but no deal materialized. It is expected that San Francisco will keep Aiyuk through the 2024 season and will make a decision in 2025 between retaining Aiyuk or All-Pro offensive weapon Deebo Samuel, with one likely being traded.
