Good News: Hurricanes Earns Unexpectedly Huge Surpassing Opposing Teams Leaving Them Aghast…

On Saturday, the Miami football program secured a commitment from four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine, who shared with Chad Simmons of On3 that his decision was between LSU and the Hurricanes. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Antoine is the 71st overall prospect, the eighth-ranked cornerback, and the second-ranked player in Louisiana for the 2025 class.

Antoine’s decision to commit to Miami came as a surprise, as 247Sports’ crystal ball had predicted he would choose LSU. However, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine correctly forecasted his commitment to Miami. Antoine’s addition moved Miami’s 2025 recruiting class to eighth place nationally, surpassing Clemson, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.

Before Antoine’s commitment, Miami had already received pledges from four-star prospect Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt at the cornerback position. Antoine is now the second-highest-ranked commit in Miami’s 2025 class, following safety Hylton Stubbs. Miami is assembling an impressive secondary for the 2025 class, with four-star safety Amari Wallace also committed.

Antoine informed Miami head coach Mario Cristobal of his decision on Friday, as reported by Josh Newburg of On3. Miami’s recruiting success in Louisiana is notable, especially since defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson played at LSU and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry is a Louisiana native.

Standing at 6’1″ and 175 pounds, Antoine brings excellent length to Miami’s secondary. With both Antoine and Stubbs, Miami now has two top 100 players in their secondary, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The Hurricanes are on track to sign the top recruiting class in the ACC and a top 10 class nationally for the third consecutive year.

Chevis Jackson has been the primary recruiter for Antoine, Ewald, and Merritt. Securing Antoine’s commitment is particularly rewarding for Jackson, an LSU alum who led the recruitment efforts for these key players.

Antoine is Miami’s fifth commit in July, joining center Seuseu Alofaituli, linebacker Gavin Nix, Stubbs, and wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw. According to 247Sports rankings, Alofaituli, Nix, Stubbs, and Antoine are the top four ranked players in Miami’s 2025 class.
