Latest!!!Vegas Golden Knights Just Lost a Spry Role Playing Star to an Opposing Team…

The Vegas Golden Knights have traded goalie Logan Thompson to the Washington Capitals in exchange for third-round picks in the 2024 and 2025 NHL Drafts.

Thompson, who joined Vegas as an undrafted free agent in July 2020, has compiled a record of 56-32-11 with a 2.67 goals-against average (GAA), a .912 save percentage, and four shutouts in 103 regular-season games (95 starts). He missed the playoffs last season due to an injury when the Golden Knights clinched the Stanley Cup.

 Interesting Timing

Thompson learned about his trade on the same day he was hosting an autograph session for fans in Las Vegas.

“Yeah. It’s weird,” Thompson said. “I’ve never been traded before, in juniors or pro. So, a lot of emotions are still running through me, and it’s going to take a couple of days to process. The only thing I’ve ever known in the NHL is the Golden Knights, so it’s going to be different.”

In the current season, Thompson has a record of 25-14-5 with a 2.70 GAA, a .908 save percentage, and one shutout in 46 regular-season games (42 starts). He also went 2-2 with a 2.35 GAA and .921 save percentage in four Stanley Cup Playoff games.

“I think I had a good four years,” Thompson reflected. “I’m going to miss it. I don’t have any bad memories here. Vegas gave me a chance in the NHL and the opportunity to become a Stanley Cup champion. I’ll remember that forever, and Vegas will always be home.”
