JD Duplain Selected by Panthers in UFL Draft
Former Michigan State offensive lineman JD Duplain was selected by the Michigan Panthers in the ninth round of the United Football League (UFL) Draft, as reported by On3Sports.
A Decorated College Career
Duplain had a standout college career at Michigan State, where he was a five-year letter-winner and made 42 consecutive starts at left guard. Over his college tenure, he played 3,007 snaps and accumulated 47 career starts, making him second only to Joel Foreman in starts among offensive linemen in the program’s history. His streak of 42 consecutive starts at left guard is also the second longest in Michigan State history, behind Shane Hannah’s 44 consecutive starts.
Honorable Mentions and Leadership
In his graduate senior year in 2023, Duplain was named an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection. He started all 12 games for the Spartans last season, playing every offensive snap in seven of those games and logging a team-high 744 snaps. Additionally, he served as a game captain eight times, demonstrating his leadership both on and off the field.
