BREAKING NEWS: So Touching As Bruins Big Star Quits Due To…

Boston Bruins Prospect Going Away from Hockey

Boston Bruins prospect Cole Spicer has announced that he will be stepping away from the University of Minnesota-Duluth hockey club and taking a break from hockey. Spicer, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, has spent the last two seasons at UMD.

Spicer confirmed his decision to Matt Wellens of the Duluth News Tribune, stating that he is stepping away from hockey indefinitely to focus on mental and personal matters. The 20-year-old center missed the second half of last season after being declared academically ineligible.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward has totaled eight goals and seven assists in 49 NCAA games. He recently participated in the Bruins Development Camp in early July. Originally from Grand Forks, North Dakota, Spicer was the 117th overall selection in the draft and was a member of the United States National Development Program before committing to Minnesota-Duluth.
