UPDATE: Finally ACC Schools Have Taken A Bold Step In The Big 12 By Becoming One With FSU And Clemson…

According to reports, four ACC schools are finalizing their plans to join Florida State University (FSU) and Clemson in the Big 12 conference. This information comes from long-time college football radio host Greg Swaim, who mentioned that the Big Ten and SEC are not looking to expand anytime soon.

Swaim stated, “We are working to verify reports from two staffers that at least four ACC schools have agreed in principle to join Clemson and FSU in their exit, likely heading to the Big 12.” He also reiterated that the Big Ten and SEC are not planning to add new members at this time.

Swaim previously reported that all new potential Big 12 members, including FSU and Clemson, will receive equal pay within the conference. This decision is partly a response to past special privileges granted to Texas and Oklahoma.

Swaim noted, “FSU and Clemson will not get a Big Ten offer as neither school is AAU accredited. There’s also talk that the SEC has turned down the pair. However, with new sponsorships, the Big 12 may not match the pay of the Big Ten or SEC, but with these additions, they’ll offer double what the ACC currently does.”

The Big 12 recently expanded with the addition of Colorado, Utah, ASU, Arizona, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and BYU. These teams have benefited greatly from the timing of their move to the Big 12, securing next-level conference pay.

Just a short time ago, the Big 12 seemed to be fading in importance within the Power 5 conferences. Now, it appears poised to become a key player alongside the Big Ten and SEC, especially if this significant ACC defection is finalized.
