Avalanche Re-Signs Casey Mittelstadt

DENVER, Colo. (KKTV) – On Tuesday, the Colorado Avalanche announced they have re-signed Casey Mittelstadt.

The 25-year-old Mittelstadt has agreed to a three-year contract extending through the 2026-27 season. Acquired in a trade from the Buffalo Sabres in March 2024, Mittelstadt tallied 10 points in 18 regular-season games with the Avalanche.

By the end of the season, Mittelstadt ranked 6th in goals, 7th in assists, and 8th in points since joining the team.

“Casey’s game has improved each season, with significant progress this past year,” said Avalanche General Manager Chris MacFarland. “We believe he has even more potential and securing him for multiple years was crucial. Casey is an exciting playmaking center with excellent vision and hands. At just 25, he will be a key part of our team moving forward.”

Standing at 6-foot-1, Mittelstadt will enter the 2024-25 season having played 357 regular-season NHL games with the Avalanche and Sabres, accumulating 196 points.
