NFL Legend Commends Angel Reese for Outstanding Performance in Chicago Sky’s Victory Over Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever

Angel Reese, who has often found herself overshadowed by Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, is now firmly in the spotlight. NFL legend and sports analyst Shannon Sharpe is among those who have applauded the Chicago Sky star for her impressive performances.

Reese had a notable college career, beginning at the University of Maryland before transferring to Louisiana State University (LSU). Despite a fractured right foot disrupting her freshman season in 2020, she rebounded as a sophomore to earn third-team All-American honors from the Associated Press. In her junior year at LSU, Reese had a standout season, becoming a unanimous first-team All-American and leading the Tigers to their first NCAA championship. She was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament and set single-season records for double-doubles and rebounds in the SEC.

In her senior year (2023-24), Reese was honored as the SEC Player of the Year and a second-team All-American. She concluded her collegiate career with multiple accolades, including being a two-time first-team All-American and SEC All-Defensive Team selection.

Reese’s college success led to her being selected 7th overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She also won a silver medal with the U.S. national team at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.

Recently, Reese led the Chicago Sky to an 88-87 victory over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, earning praise from Shannon Sharpe. “Angel Reese whipping a** again today like always. IF* she gets to her dominant hand. She’s scoring or you’re fouling her. 25 pts 16 rbs #WNBA #SkyvsFever,” Sharpe tweeted.

In 15 games this season, Reese is averaging 13.2 points on 40 percent shooting, 11.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. The Sky currently hold an eighth-place position in the WNBA with a record of six wins and nine losses.

Reese is just beginning her professional career, and if she continues at this pace, more accolades and praises from figures like Sharpe are likely to follow.
