The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Ty Dellandrea from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round draft pick, originally belonging to Winnipeg. Dellandrea, 23, played 42 games for the Stars last season, contributing nine points (two goals, seven assists) and accumulating 23 penalty minutes. He ranked sixth among team forwards in hits (63) and fifth in shorthanded ice time (78:19).

In the 2024 playoffs, Dellandrea appeared in six games, scoring one goal, and helped the Stars reach the Western Conference Final against the Edmonton Oilers. Throughout his NHL career, he has played in 151 games, scoring 42 points (14 goals, 28 assists). Dellandrea has also played 87 games in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Texas Stars, recording 59 points (27 goals, 32 assists).

Before turning professional, Dellandrea spent four seasons with the Flint Firebirds in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He served as an assistant captain during the 2017-18 season and was team captain for the following two seasons. In 231 OHL games, he scored 216 points (94 goals, 122 assists). Dellandrea received the OHL Commitment Award, recognizing his leadership on and off the ice, as well as his dedication to hockey and his community.

On the international stage, Dellandrea represented Team Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championship, where he helped secure a gold medal. He recorded five points in seven games and served as an assistant captain for the team.

Standing six feet two inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, Dellandrea hails from Port Perry, Ontario. He was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (13th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
