Breaking: Bucks Considering Portis and Connaughton 2021 Championship for Trades …

The Milwaukee Bucks may be ready to part ways with two key players from their 2021 championship team. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, NBA executives believe Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton are available for trade this offseason if the Bucks can secure a win-now upgrade. Both players have player options for the 2025-26 season, effectively making this their contract year.

Portis, 29, and Connaughton, 31, were pivotal off the bench during Milwaukee’s 2021 NBA title run. Portis has maintained significant value, averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last season, and was a finalist for Sixth Man of the Year for the second consecutive year.

The Bucks need to reassess their strategy this summer after the inaugural season of the Damian Lillard-Giannis Antetokounmpo pairing ended with a first-round playoff exit, largely due to injuries to both stars. Milwaukee aims to get younger, a desire highlighted by another player on their roster emerging as a trade candidate.
