REPORT: Florida State extended an offer to a 5-Star QB…

Class of 2026 five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel is receiving expert predictions to commit to Florida State. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Florida State boasts the second-best recruiting class for 2026. The Seminoles already have commitments from four-star wide receivers Darryon Williams and Efrem White, as well as four-star safety Darryl Bell III.

While some Florida State fans might not be concerned about the 2026 recruiting class yet due to the Early Signing Period potentially being far off, head coach Mike Norvell recognizes the importance of securing top talent early. Norvell’s focus is on building a strong, sustainable foundation for the program’s future success.

On Monday night, Norvell’s efforts seemed to be paying off as On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons both predicted that Brady Smigiel, a standout quarterback from Newbury, California, will choose Florida State. During the 2023 season, Smigiel showcased his talent by completing 282 of 479 passes for 4,222 yards, with 52 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Smigiel visited Tallahassee in April and formed a strong relationship with Norvell and quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz. Florida State extended an offer to Smigiel on January 17, 2023, and the connection has been growing ever since. With current quarterbacks Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, and Trever Jackson, along with 2025 four-star commit Tramell Jones Jr., the addition of Smigiel could make Florida State’s quarterback lineup legendary.
