Mark Kingston Named Associate Head Baseball Coach at Creighton, Will Lead Bluejay Program in 2026…

On June 18, McCormick Endowed Athletic Director Marcus Blossom announced the hiring of Mark Kingston as the Associate Head Coach and Coach-in-Waiting for Creighton Baseball. Kingston will become the 11th head coach of the Bluejays after the 2025 season.

Blossom expressed his excitement about Kingston joining Creighton, stating, “I am thrilled to welcome Mark, his wife Letitia, and their family to Creighton and Omaha. Mark has a proven track record of success and will be a great asset alongside Coach Servais in the 2025 season.”

Blossom also highlighted the long history of excellent coaches at Creighton and Kingston’s potential to continue this legacy. Kingston brings 15 years of head coaching experience, with a successful track record at South Carolina, South Florida, and Illinois State, boasting a combined record of 490-335-1.

Kingston shared his enthusiasm for joining Creighton, noting the appeal of the school’s combination of quality education and top-notch facilities. He emphasized the positive environment within the Creighton Athletic Department and his readiness to work closely with Ed Servais during the transition.

Current head coach Ed Servais welcomed Kingston, acknowledging his extensive experience and expressing optimism about the future of Creighton Baseball with the addition of more experienced coaches.

Kingston’s coaching career includes leading 15 teams to NCAA Tournament appearances, with six reaching the NCAA Super Regionals, and one winning a national championship. His tenure includes notable successes at Miami and Tulane, as well as a professional playing career.

In 2019, Kingston served as an assistant coach for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. He holds a degree in communications from North Carolina, where he was part of the 1989 team that advanced to the College World Series.

Kingston and his wife Letitia have three children, Kailyn Grace, Cameron James, and Kathryn Patricia.
