2026 Quarterback Dia Bell Commits to Texas

Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian continues his successful streak of recruiting top quarterbacks. His latest accomplishment is securing four-star recruit Dia Bell, who announced his commitment to Texas on social media platform X.

Bell, hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is ranked as the second-best quarterback and the 10th overall prospect in the 2026 class. Heading into his junior year of high school, Bell has committed to Texas over 37 other offers.

Bell’s skills as a pocket passer were evident early on, having played four varsity games in eighth grade, with 12 pass attempts and two rushing touchdowns. During his freshman year, he played in nine games, completing 13 of 21 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns, plus 30 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

His sophomore year at American Heritage High School solidified his reputation, throwing for 1,929 yards, 20 touchdowns, and four interceptions over the season.

In addition to his football prowess, Bell is also known for his father, Raja Bell, a former NBA player and two-time NBA All-Defensive Team member. Bell Jr. continues the athletic legacy, averaging 20.7 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game in high school basketball during his freshman year.

Dia Bell’s commitment adds another high-caliber quarterback to Sarkisian’s impressive recruiting record, which includes talents like Bryce Young, Jalen Milroe, Quinn Ewers, Maalik Murphy, Arch Manning, Trey Owens, and KJ Lacey since 2020, starting with his time at Alabama.

Bell expressed his gratitude on X, posting a photo of himself in Texas gear and thanking all the schools that offered him opportunities. He emphasized that Texas was always part of his plan. This commitment reinforces Texas’s status as having one of the top quarterback rosters in the country heading into the 2024 season.
