Report: NC State Wolfpack Names New Voice of NC State Wolfpack Radio…

Matt Chazanow Named New NC State Radio Announcer…

Matt Chazanow has been chosen as the new radio announcer for NC State, succeeding the esteemed Gary Hahn.

Hahn, who has been the voice of the Wolfpack for 34 years, retired after NC State’s thrilling run to the Final Four extended his career just a bit longer.

Following an extensive search, Boo Corrigan, NC State’s Director of Athletics, and Learfield’s Wolfpack Sports Properties announced Chazanow’s appointment as the university’s Director of Broadcasting.

Corrigan expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to welcome Matt Chazanow as our new ‘Voice of the Wolfpack.’ Chaz understands that this role is not just about calling games, but also about creating memorable moments for Wolfpack fans of all ages. He is a talented radio announcer and will be an excellent representative of our university, brand, and culture. I also want to thank Gary Hahn for his years of service. He has created lasting memories for generations of NC State fans and will always be a part of Wolfpack Nation.”

After a national search that reviewed over 150 applicants, Chazanow was selected to be the play-by-play announcer for NC State football and men’s basketball.

Prior to this, Chazanow spent nine years at Washington State University as the Director of Broadcast Operations. Since 2015, he has been the play-by-play broadcaster for football, basketball, and baseball. He also hosted and designed weekly coaching shows, created video and podcast content, coordinated with sales staff, and supported donor relations.

Chazanow also has extensive national broadcasting experience, having worked as a play-by-play announcer for Westwood One Radio and Learfield, covering various sports including football, men’s basketball, baseball, and NCAA women’s basketball regional semifinals and finals.

Chazanow expressed his excitement about the new role: “I am thrilled for this incredible opportunity. The passion and power of the Pack is renowned in college athletics, and to be entrusted to take the baton from Gary Hahn and tell the stories of NC State is truly humbling. I can’t wait to get started.”

Washington State will now need to find a new voice for their radio broadcasts.
