Breaking News: Milwaukee Bucks Receives Another Blockbuster Trade for a 6-foot-5 guard Ahead of the New Season…

The Milwaukee Bucks are faced with numerous options for the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft and have several areas that need improvement before the new season begins.

One key issue for the Bucks last season was their defense, particularly in the backcourt. Therefore, selecting a player like Tristen Newton from UConn with their second-round pick could be beneficial.

Tristen Newton’s Pre-Draft Workout with the Milwaukee Bucks

Newton, a 6-foot-5 guard who just completed his fifth year in college, recently posted a photo of himself in Bucks gear on social media, indicating he had a pre-draft workout with Milwaukee. The “#5” in his post suggests that the Bucks are the fifth NBA team he’s worked out for before the draft.

Dalton Sell of Behind the Bucks Pass highlighted Newton’s defensive prowess as a good match for Milwaukee:

“There’s a lot to like about Newton’s possible fit in Milwaukee. First, he’s a tenacious defender, and at 6-foot-5, he possesses quality size, which could allow him to match up against bigger players. It’s no secret that the Bucks should be overturning every stone possible to get more strong defenders on this roster, especially young ones with a motor like Newton has,” Sell wrote.

Potential UConn Reunion

Last year, the Bucks drafted another UConn alum, Andre Jackson Jr., who had a mixed first season under Adrian Griffin and Doc Rivers. Reuniting Jackson with Newton could be beneficial, as their familiarity might enhance their on-court chemistry and overall performance.

The Bucks have several options for their No. 33 pick in the upcoming draft, and Newton could be a strong candidate for their second-round selection.
