Gonzaga Bulldogs and WSU Cougars to Clash Twice in West Coast Conference…

The long-standing rivalry between the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Washington State Cougars is set to reignite on the basketball court this season.

While baseball season is in full swing and football season approaches, the excitement for college basketball is building in Hooptown USA.

The West Coast Conference (WCC) has announced the matchups for the upcoming men’s basketball season. Gonzaga, who finished second in the WCC standings behind Saint Mary’s, will play the Gaels, USF Dons, Santa Clara Broncos, LMU Lions, Pepperdine Waves, and Portland Pilots twice—once at home and once away.

New to Gonzaga’s schedule this season are the Washington State Cougars and Oregon State Beavers, joining the WCC following the dissolution of the PAC-12 conference. Gonzaga will face both teams at home and on the road.

Additionally, Gonzaga will only play the USD Toreros and Pacific Tigers once, hosting USD and traveling to Stockton, California, to face Pacific.

Washington State will play Oregon State, their fellow former PAC-12 team, just once in Corvallis. They will host LMU for their only matchup of the season. Besides these games, WSU will play the remaining WCC teams (Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, USF, USD, Pacific, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, and Portland) twice each.

The last meeting between Gonzaga and WSU in Pullman was in 2015, where Gonzaga won 69-60. WSU also played Santa Clara last season, losing 69-61.

The dates and times for these games are yet to be announced.
