BREAKING: Teven Jenkins is seeking a contract extension with the Bears, but the team has yet to make an offer…

Bears offensive lineman Teven Jenkins is entering the final year of his rookie contract and hopes to secure a long-term deal to stay in Chicago. However, this requires both parties to enter into negotiations.

According to Jenkins, he and his agent have shown interest in staying with the Bears, but the team has yet to make an offer.

“We reached out, but nothing is on the table,” Jenkins stated.

When asked about the mutual interest in a contract extension, Jenkins replied, “Up in the air.”

The Bears selected Jenkins with the 39th overall pick in the 2021 draft. Despite struggling with injuries and playing only 31 games over three years, including 24 starts, he performed well when healthy last season. Jenkins emphasized that his main goal this year is to stay healthy for all 17 games. Achieving this could lead to a substantial second contract next year, either with the Bears or another team.
