JUST IN: Patrick Beverley of the Milwaukee Bucks has responded to the news of JJ Redick’s potential coaching role…

For weeks now, speculation has been rife that JJ Redick could be the next head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, gaining momentum with each passing rumor. As the buzz around his potential hiring intensifies, notable figures like Milwaukee Bucks’ Patrick Beverley have begun extending their congratulations to the former NBA sharpshooter.

Two years back, the Lakers’ management bid farewell to Frank Vogel after his failure to maximize the trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. Darvin Ham was brought in as his successor, a decision that led to a Western Conference Finals appearance against the Denver Nuggets led by Nikola Jokic.

Despite their subsequent sweep by the reigning champions last season, there was optimism that Ham could build on that playoff performance. However, the Lakers, led by James, once again bowed out of the playoffs early, this time at the hands of Denver. Consequently, Los Angeles parted ways with Ham in search of a replacement before James potentially moves to another team as a free agent.

Following their premature playoff exit, rumors started swirling around potential successors, with JJ Redick, Boston Celtics assistant coach Sam Cassell, and James Borrego emerging as leading candidates. Among them, Redick, the former three-point specialist, appears to be the frontrunner.

Recently, multiple reports have indicated that Redick is in line for the Lakers coaching job, prompting veteran guard Patrick Beverley to offer his congratulations to the former NBA star.

Redick boasts a 15-season NBA career, during which he established himself as a proficient long-range shooter. He holds career averages of 41 percent from three-point range, 48 percent from two-point range, and 89 percent from the free-throw line.

Whether Redick ultimately secures the coaching position in the coming weeks remains to be seen. However, with all signs pointing in that direction, including Beverley’s recent tweet, it appears increasingly likely that the former NBA standout will soon join forces with Lakers’ star LeBron James.
