Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks is mentioned as one of the ‘Reasonably Priced Role Players’ who might be traded this offseason. According to Quinn, “The Bucks probably aren’t eager to move Portis, especially since he just had a strong playoff series against the Pacers, but their options are limited. They have little draft capital or young players and need to improve their perimeter defense. Portis is the most valuable player they can offer without breaking up their core.”
Bobby Portis was a finalist for the Sixth Man Of the Year award this NBA season, which was won by Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Portis is a fan favorite among Bucks supporters. At 29 years old, he could still fetch a decent return in a trade. He played in all 82 games last season, averaging 13.8 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 1.3 APG, 0.4 BPG, and 0.8 SPG, while shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three-point range, and 79.0 percent from the free-throw line.
It might be more beneficial for the Bucks to trade Khris Middleton instead of Bobby Portis. Trading Portis would leave the Bucks without bench scoring, and they are not a particularly deep team to begin with.
