Milwaukee Bucks: Major Update on Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s Achilles Injury

Milwaukee Bucks forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo, 31, faces an uncertain future after sustaining a potentially career-ending Achilles injury late in the season. The older brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo will undergo surgery for his torn Achilles tendon, necessitating a lengthy recovery period.

Encouragingly, Thanasis might return to the court sooner than initially anticipated.

Milwaukee Bucks News: Thanasis Antetokounmpo Injury Update

According to Harris Stavrou of SPORT24, Thanasis aims to return to basketball after just a six-month recovery. Typically, players with this injury miss an entire season, making his potential half-year recovery noteworthy.

“Thanasis Antetokounmpo is pushing hard to return to action in about 6 months. TA will support the Greek NT in the pre-Olympic tournament in Piraeus and he will be a free agent this offseason,” Stavrou reported.

However, there is no certainty that Thanasis will recover within six months. His return depends on his body’s response to surgery and rehabilitation.

Despite this uncertainty, the news remains positive as Thanasis seeks a contract extension with the Bucks this summer.
