BREAKING: Former QB is firmly convinced that Caleb Williams, the newest addition to Bears, is destined for greatness, dubbing him the “Chosen One”…

The Chicago Bears are poised for a significant leap forward in the upcoming season, and much of the anticipation revolves around Caleb Williams. Williams, selected as the top pick in the NFL Draft by the Bears, is anticipated to shine as a professional star. Having showcased his talent at both Oklahoma and USC in college, he clinched the prestigious Heisman Trophy in 2022, cementing his status as the standout player in collegiate football, much to the delight of Bears supporters.

Chris Simms, drawing from his own experience as an NFL quarterback, recently weighed in on the Caleb Williams phenomenon, expressing enthusiastic support for the young athlete.

“In my view, he’s a natural talent, a ‘Chosen One’ archetype,” remarked Simms on his podcast, Unbuttoned. “Throughout his college career, he operated within an offensive system that heavily relied on his abilities to read the field, make critical decisions, and adjust plays at the line of scrimmage. His quarterbacking maturity is impressive.”

Simms acknowledges potential early challenges for Williams but is optimistic about his rookie season, citing his exceptional physical prowess and mental resilience. He believes that despite possible initial rough patches, Williams will likely hit his stride around Week 5 or 6, drawing parallels to the rapid development seen in quarterbacks like C.J. Stroud in previous seasons.

The decision to bring in Caleb Williams was partly prompted by the Chicago Bears’ past quarterbacking situation, particularly with Justin Fields. There was uncertainty surrounding Fields’ future in Chicago, with some fans advocating for retaining him and trading down from the first overall pick. While that scenario didn’t materialize, Simms remains confident in Fields’ potential success with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Fields currently stands as the premier athletic talent among NFL quarterbacks,” asserts Simms. “His agility, tenacity, and unwavering determination to secure victories are unmistakable. However, his pocket passing skills still require refinement.”

Simms acknowledges Fields’ progress during his tenure in Chicago but emphasizes the necessity for further improvement in his pocket presence to reach the level expected of top-tier NFL quarterbacks.

Looking ahead, both Caleb Williams and Justin Fields promise to deliver captivating performances in the upcoming season. Williams is poised to lead the charge for the Bears, while Fields contends for the starting position alongside Russell Wilson, setting the stage for compelling storylines surrounding both talented quarterbacks.
