NFL fans responded to former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s recent comments regarding the NFL, particularly his criticism of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s support of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech.
Goodell previously expressed appreciation for the diversity of opinions among NFL players, citing it as a reflection of American society’s diversity. However, Kaepernick, who has not played in the league since 2016 due to his protest against police brutality, took to Instagram to express his disapproval, stating that he no longer watches the NFL and remains indifferent to its halftime performances.
Kaepernick’s decision to boycott the league elicited mixed reactions from fans. Some viewed it as hypocritical, pointing out that Kaepernick had previously sought to rejoin the NFL last season.
