NEW: PFF has bestowed a distinctive honor upon the Chicago Bears’ wide receiver corps as they prepare for the 2024 regular season…

Many NFL enthusiasts are highly optimistic about the Chicago Bears’ wide receiver corps this season. However, Pro Football Focus (PFF) has elevated their praise of DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze to a new level.

In a recent column, Sam Monson argued that all three Bears wideouts rank among the top 32 in the league, implying that each is deserving of being labeled a WR1.

Monson places Moore at No. 12 on his list, just trailing Stefon Diggs and Puka Nacua. Despite Justin Fields’ initial struggles last season, Moore managed to amass an impressive 1,364 yards with 2.31 yards per route run, showcasing his exceptional effectiveness regardless of the quarterback.

Having been a consistent performer since his selection by the Panthers in 2018, Moore enjoyed a standout season last year, his first with the Bears.

Following Moore is Keenan Allen, positioned at No. 22, between Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jaylen Waddle. Allen’s remarkable route-running abilities should ensure his continued effectiveness despite turning 32 recently. His precision and technique have been hallmarks of his career, mitigating concerns about any decline in speed.

Rounding out the trio is Odunze at No. 29, nestled between Michael Pittman Jr. and George Pickens. Despite being the third wide receiver drafted in his class, Odunze’s performance in 2023 was unmatched by most of his peers. He excelled in various metrics, including yards, first downs, contested catches, and catch rate.

Remarkably, the Bears are the sole team with three wide receivers in PFF’s top 32, distinguishing them from others in the league. This depth of talent sets a competitive tone within the team, with Moore even dubbing it a “race to 1,000 yards.” Odunze embraces this competitive spirit, emphasizing the importance of every receiver seeing themselves as a WR1.

Despite this healthy competition, drama is not expected within the Bears’ ranks, as none of their pass catchers exhibit diva-like behavior commonly associated with the position. Instead, the focus remains on supporting each other and striving for perfection as a brotherhood.
