Duke Women’s Tennis Freshman Concluded At The NCAA Singles Championship…

Duke women’s tennis freshman Shavit Kimchi concluded her time at the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship on Monday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Kimchi faced 19th-ranked Sarah Hamner of South Carolina in the opening round and lost 7-6 (5), 6-2.

Kimchi, hailing from Sdey Hemed, Israel, showed resilience by battling back from a 4-2 deficit in the first set to force a tiebreaker, which she ultimately lost 7-5. In the second set, the score was tied at 2-2 before Hamner took control, winning the next four games to seal the match at 6-2.

One of the top freshmen in the nation, Kimchi wraps up her rookie season with a commendable 17-12 record in singles matches.
