Breaking: Draymond Green brings up LeBron James’ Cavs and 2019 Warriors bashing Knicks for ‘injury excuse…

On his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” Draymond Green criticized the New York Knicks for blaming injuries for their exit from the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals against the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks were eliminated in Game 7, and key players like Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson were unable to play due to injuries. Jalen Brunson, who had been leading the team, also got injured in Game 7.

Green dismissed the Knicks’ injury excuses by drawing parallels to his own experiences. He mentioned the Golden State Warriors’ 2019 NBA Finals loss to the Toronto Raptors, where the Warriors’ key players, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, were sidelined with injuries. Even Stephen Curry was affected by a dislocated finger. Green pointed out that no one gave the Warriors a pass for their loss due to injuries, emphasizing that injuries are a part of the game and cannot be used as excuses.

Green also referenced the 2015 NBA Finals, where Kyrie Irving’s injury hindered the Cleveland Cavaliers’ chances of winning. He stressed that every team faces injuries, and it’s an inherent part of the sport that teams need to overcome rather than use as a rationale for their defeat.

In other news, Draymond Green congratulated Brandin Podziemski for making the All-Rookie First Team for the 2023-24 NBA season. Podziemski, selected 19th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2023 NBA Draft, has become a significant player for the team. The Warriors celebrated his achievement on their social media accounts.

During his rookie season, Podziemski averaged 9.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game. He shot 45.2% from the field and 38.5% from three-point range, earning him recognition as a ‘Rising Star’ by the NBA. His performance and contribution to the team have been notable, even starting in several games, highlighting his potential and importance to the Warriors’ roster.
