REPORT: Why All Blacks Wing  Re-signs with New Zealand Rugby and Chiefs Until 2026…

All Blacks winger Emoni Narawa has renewed his contract with New Zealand Rugby and the Chiefs, extending it until the end of 2026.

Narawa has had an impressive Super Rugby Pacific season, scoring eight tries in seven matches, placing him among the top three try-scorers in the 2024 competition.

Chiefs head coach Clayton McMillan praised Narawa’s decision to stay with the team. “It’s fantastic that Emoni has committed to the Chiefs for the next few years. He has always shown great potential, and it’s been a pleasure to see that talent come to fruition, particularly with his selection as an All Black in 2023,” McMillan said.

Narawa joins other outside backs Shaun Stevenson and Etene Nanai-Seturo in reaffirming their commitment to the Chiefs.

“Emoni has an exceptional ability to identify space and create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He’s a valuable team member and a significant presence both on and off the field,” McMillan added.

McMillan also highlighted the support Narawa has received from his young family, stating that their stability and purpose have been crucial to his journey, and expressed gratitude for their continued presence in the Chiefs community.

Narawa, who was named in last year’s All Blacks World Cup squad but was sidelined by injury, expressed his enthusiasm about continuing his career in New Zealand. “I’m truly blessed and grateful for the chance to extend my time with the Chiefs until 2026. This club feels like family and has been instrumental in my development as a player. God is good, and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
