Breaking : Twins GM Update About Byron Buxton, Royce Lewis return from injuries…

The Minnesota Twins are currently in third place in the American League Central, just two games behind the first-place Cleveland Guardians, with a record of 24-17. Despite their strong performance, they have been missing key players Byron Buxton and Royce Lewis due to injuries.

Both Buxton and Lewis are considered to have All-Star potential when they are healthy. However, injuries have been a recurring issue for both players throughout their careers.

Royce Lewis has been on the injured list since the beginning of the season due to a severe right quad strain. He is expected to return no earlier than June and has already started hitting on the field, with the next step being running the bases.

Byron Buxton, on the other hand, has been dealing with right knee inflammation. He is reportedly close to returning and is beginning his rehab assignment. Buxton mentioned that the last step before his return is to work out with the team, which he expects to do soon. Barring any setbacks, he could be back on the field with the Twins within the next week.

Despite these injuries, the Twins have been competitive in a much-improved AL Central division. The Cleveland Guardians lead the division, followed by the surprising Kansas City Royals. The Twins are hoping to get fully healthy soon to make a push for the division title.

The AL Central has seen a significant improvement in competitiveness compared to the 2023 season, with only the Chicago White Sox having a below .500 record currently. The division features many young and exciting players who are starting to make an impact, making it an exciting division to watch this season.

The Twins will need to continue battling and stay competitive as both Cleveland and Kansas City are playing with confidence. The division race is expected to be thrilling as the 2024 season progresses.
