Breaking New: “Neil Lennon Nears Rapid Bucharest Managerial Role Contract …

The 52-year-old is close to becoming the next manager of Rapid Bucharest, according to a report from The Scottish Sun. Negotiations for a two-year contract worth £1.5 million are reportedly in the final stages. Last week, Lenny engaged in discussions with the Romanian club. It seems that a deal to return to coaching is almost finalized, marking the end of his 19-month hiatus from the game. Unless there are any unforeseen issues, Lennon is expected to be announced as Rapid’s new manager following the Bucharest derby with Steaua this weekend. Lennon has been without a job since his dismissal from Cypriot club Omonia 19 months ago, although he has been linked with several clubs during that period, including Hibernian and Aberdeen. Despite speculation about a potential return to Hibernian following Nick Montgomery’s departure, it seems that neither party will pursue that option, as Lennon is set to replace Cristiano Bergodi as head coach of Rapid. The team finished second in Liga 1 but struggled in the play-offs, losing seven of their eight matches. Meanwhile, Alistair Johnston responded to claims by Philippe Clement regarding the gap between Rangers and Celtic. Johnston believes that the key factor giving Celtic an advantage over their rivals this season has been their ability to cope with long-term injuries to key players like Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, and Callum McGregor, as they aim for a league and cup double.
