Cautious Approach: Texas Rangers’ Outfielder Consults Specialist for Lingering Back Issues…

Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter is taking a careful approach to his recent back issues, opting to consult a specialist on Monday.

Carter, who has been sidelined for the last three games due to persistent back soreness, expressed discomfort during a pinch-hitting opportunity earlier in the week, leading to worsening symptoms. His playing time has been limited since then, with only a pinch-hit appearance on Friday and subsequent absence from the past two games.

Carter’s concern stems from a prior experience with a stress fracture in his back back in 2021. Reflecting on this, he emphasized the importance of preemptive action, stating, “I just don’t want to let it get to that point again.”

He admitted to feeling symptoms reminiscent of his previous injury and expressed a preference for caution, even if it means missing a few games. Despite his desire to avoid exacerbating the situation, Carter remains hopeful that his current discomfort is minor.

The outfielder, known for his impactful contributions during the Rangers’ previous season, has seen a decline in performance this year, batting .216 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs, 23 runs, and 2 steals, alongside 37 strikeouts in 125 at-bats.
