JUST IN: Georgia Bulldogs Ready Gear Up for NCAA Tournament in Austin Regional at Unsual Venue…

The Georgia Bulldogs, ranked 20th, are gearing up to start their NCAA journey as the fourth seed in the Austin Regional hosted by Texas at the University of Texas Golf Club from May 13-15.

The team’s lineup comprises graduates Connor Creasy, Ben van Wyk, senior Caleb Manuel, junior Buck Brumlow, and freshman Camden Smith, with graduate Beck Burnette as an alternate.

The top five teams from each of the five NCAA regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., from May 24-29. Additionally, the lowest-scoring individual in each regional, whose team doesn’t advance, will also earn a spot in the NCAA Championships to compete individually.

Georgia’s golf program, led by head coach Chris Haack, is embarking on its 27th Regional appearance under his leadership, with 22 advancements to the NCAAs. The Bulldogs have a storied history in regional rounds, having clinched first place six times since the 2006-07 season.

Competing alongside Georgia in the Austin Regional are notable teams like No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Arkansas, host No. 3 Texas, and others.

In their recent outing at the SEC Championships, Georgia made it to the quarterfinals of match play, finishing tied for fourth in the stroke play segment. Van Wyk and Smith showcased strong performances, earning All-SEC honors for their contributions to the team.

Van Wyk, in particular, has had an outstanding collegiate season, earning a spot on the Arnold Palmer Cup International Team and ranking highly in individual rankings.

Overall, the Bulldogs are primed for a competitive showing in Austin as they vie for their third national title.
