Breaking: Former Oregon Ducks Star Troy Franklin Shortlisted to Starts With Denver Broncos in 2024…

Troy Franklin, a standout from the University of Oregon, has garnered attention as a potential Day 3 steal for the Denver Broncos in the 2024 NFL Draft. The wide receiver had a remarkable 2023 season, setting school records for most receptions, yards, and touchdowns in a single season, as well as most receiving touchdowns in his career.

Denver traded up to select Franklin with the first pick of the fourth round, a move that has been praised by many. NFL.com’s Chad Reuter listed Franklin among the Day 3 selections who could contend for starting roles in their rookie year.

The Broncos’ receiving corps already includes Tim Patrick, Marvin Mims Jr., Courtland Sutton, and Josh Reynolds, but Franklin’s combination of size and speed, standing at 6-foot-2 and running a 4.41-second 40-yard dash, makes him a compelling addition. His ability to accelerate and make plays after the catch adds another dimension to his game.

Denver’s head coach, Sean Payton, has praised Franklin’s agility and ability to beat press coverage. With veteran Jerry Jeudy leaving for the Cleveland Browns in free agency, there’s an opening for Franklin to make an impact.

A particularly intriguing aspect is the potential reunion with his former Oregon teammate, quarterback Bo Nix, whom the Broncos selected in the first round. If both players can rekindle their college chemistry, it could be a boon for Denver’s offense in the upcoming season.
