Just In: An Expert Make Bold Prediction as UND Connection Grows with C.J. Siegel Joining 5 Promising Talents at Winnipeg Blue Bombers…

C.J. Siegel has joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, marking a continuation of the growing connection between the team and the University of North Dakota (UND). Siegel, a former defensive back for the Fighting Hawks, will be playing alongside fellow UND alumni Brady Oliveira and Evan Holm.

During his time at UND, Siegel proved his prowess on the field, starting 52 games as a cornerback and achieving impressive statistics. He ranked third in career pass breakups, fourth in interceptions, and ninth in solo tackles in the Division I era. Notably, he was a key player in UND’s success, earning accolades such as second-team all-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors.

Oliveira, a standout player with a two-year contract extension, has already made significant contributions to the Blue Bombers as the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian. Meanwhile, Holm, who emerged as a star in the 2023 season, has solidified his position as a CFL All-Star.

The Blue Bombers, with their trio of UND products, are gearing up for the upcoming season, with the preseason set to commence on May 20 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Beyond the Blue Bombers, UND’s influence in the Canadian Football League extends further, with Mason Bennett and Tyron Vrede also representing the university in the league.

As the Blue Bombers prepare for their rookie camp, there’s a sense of renewal and opportunity. With veteran players retiring or moving on, new talents have a chance to make their mark. The camp will be attended by a mix of rookies and seasoned players, including legendary figure Milt Stegall, providing an exciting backdrop for the start of the 2024 season.

Among the rookies to watch are defensive ends Chauncey Rivers and Ali Fayad, who bring pro experience and promise to the team. Additionally, players like Aron Cruickshank, Tyrique McGhee, and K.J. Hill are poised to make an impact, filling key positions and bringing their own unique skills to the field.
