REPROT: 3 Potential Trade Targets for the Dallas Cowboys to Bolster Roster Depth…

Potential Acquisitions for Dallas Cowboys via Trades…

The Dallas Cowboys are poised to accumulate a wealth of draft picks in 2025, with projections suggesting they could receive four compensatory picks. While they could stash these for future drafts, they might opt to leverage them for immediate improvements this season.

Despite adding eight rookies in the 2024 NFL Draft, areas of concern remain for the Cowboys. To address this, they should explore all avenues, including free agency, waivers, and trades. Today, our focus is on potential trade targets who could make a significant impact.

1. Defensive Tackle Siaki Ika from the Cleveland Browns
Siaki Ika, picked by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, could be on the move after the Browns bolstered their defensive tackle position in the recent draft. Standing at 6’3″ and 335 pounds, Ika’s size and style align well with what the Cowboys need on their defensive line. Pairing him with their first-round pick from 2023, Mazi Smith, could shore up their run defense. Trading one of their projected compensatory picks would facilitate this move.

2. Wide Receiver Treylon Burks from the Tennessee Titans
Treylon Burks, drafted 18th overall by the Tennessee Titans in 2022, has struggled with injuries, limiting his playing time and productivity. However, he still possesses the potential to thrive, especially in a different environment alongside a quarterback like Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys, in need of an upgrade at WR3, could benefit from Burks’ talents. A change of scenery might be just what he needs to revitalize his career, making this a mutually beneficial trade.

3. Running Back Miles Sanders and Wide Receiver Jonathan Mingo
Both Miles Sanders and Jonathan Mingo might be surplus to requirements for the Carolina Panthers after they drafted replacements in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Sanders, despite his potential, lost his starting role to Chuba Hubbard, while Mingo has struggled to make an impact since being drafted in 2023. Acquiring either player via trade could bolster the Cowboys’ roster. While Sanders may come with a high price tag, parting with some future compensatory picks could facilitate the deal. Mingo, with three years left on his rookie contract, offers a more financially manageable option.”
