The Roast Heard ‘Round the NFL: Jimmy Garoppolo Catches Ricochet Shot As Robert Kraft Roasts Tom Brady…

During the Netflix special “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady,” Patriots owner Robert Kraft stole the spotlight with his witty remarks.

Alongside Bill Belichick, Kraft delivered a toast to Brady while also engaging in playful banter. He humorously requested Vladimir Putin return his Super Bowl ring and took a jab at Brady’s aspiration to become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, jokingly referencing the departure of Jimmy Garoppolo.

The history between Brady and Garoppolo is well-known, with tensions arising when the Patriots drafted Garoppolo in 2014 as Brady’s potential successor. Despite initial plans to transition away from Brady, his subsequent success led to Garoppolo being traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2017.

While Brady went on to further achievements, including joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Garoppolo had a mixed tenure with the 49ers and a brief stint with the Raiders.

Although the decision to release Garoppolo from the Raiders was unrelated to Brady, it added a layer of irony as Brady pursues ownership in the team. Garoppolo has since moved on to join the Los Angeles Rams, while Brady remains retired, hinting at a potential NFL comeback and considering a broadcasting career.

The roast, hosted by Kevin Hart in Los Angeles, spared no one, making it unsurprising that Jimmy Garoppolo was included in the humorous exchanges.
