The Tampa Bay Lightning struggled to find success against the Florida Panthers and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky in the first three games of their playoff series. However, in Game 4, they finally managed to overcome their frustrations.
During Saturday’s game, the Lightning scored three goals in the opening period against Bobrovsky, ultimately securing a 6-3 victory and extending their season. Despite a late rally from the Panthers, Tampa Bay held on for the win.
Bobrovsky acknowledged the Lightning’s strong performance, emphasizing the need for his team to rest and regroup before Game 5. Tampa Bay capitalized on various opportunities in the first period, including a power-play goal from Steven Stamkos and goals during shorthanded and 4-on-4 situations.
Although the Panthers narrowed the gap with goals from Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Reinhart, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, they couldn’t catch up to the Lightning’s lead.
Bobrovsky praised his team’s effort and resilience but recognized the challenge ahead, with the Panthers still holding a 3-1 series lead. Looking ahead to Game 5, he emphasized the importance of preparation and maintaining confidence despite the loss.
Ultimately, both teams are gearing up for a crucial Game 5, with the Panthers aiming to close out the series and the Lightning fighting to stay alive.
