Breaking: Portsmouth Boss Gives Shocking Injuries Updates Ahead Of Easter Double Clash…

Mousinho: Injury Situation Improving Ahead of Easter Double Header

Manager Anticipates Tough Match Against Wycombe

Throughout this season, injuries have been a persistent concern for Pompey, although they haven’t hindered their ascent to the top of League One.

The team’s treatment room has seen a rotation of players dealing with long-term injuries, with Terry Devlin, Joe Morrell, Regan Poole, and Alex Robertson ruled out for the remainder of the season.

However, there is positive news for John Mousinho as several players are either fit for the upcoming trip to Wycombe on Good Friday or are nearing a return to the pitch.

Mousinho stated, “The recent break has revitalized the squad and allowed us to bring some players back into contention. Paddy Lane returned to action for Northern Ireland after missing the Peterborough game, while Joe Rafferty needed a few extra days to recover from illness.”

He continued, “Kusini Yengi will be returning from Australia and should be in good shape to play. Tino Anjorin has completed a full week of training with no issues, making him available for selection. Callum Lang’s recovery is progressing positively, and we anticipate his return possibly for the Shrewsbury game, or failing that, the match against Bolton.”

Mousinho also provided updates on other players, mentioning, “Connor Ogilvie has been in and out of training as a precaution, and we expect him to be back after the Easter fixtures.

Tom Lowery’s return is a bit more gradual, and we’re being cautious with his workload, aiming for a comeback against Bolton. Christian Saydee is on the verge of returning, although his availability for the Derby match remains uncertain. On the other hand, Ben Stevenson is fit and ready for Friday’s game.”

Looking ahead to the busy Easter schedule, Mousinho acknowledged the challenge posed by Wycombe, who have won their last three matches.

He said, “We’ve faced many significant games this season, but we understand that each one doesn’t define our campaign.

Our focus remains on Friday’s match against an in-form Wycombe side, who have strengthened well in January and pose a considerable attacking threat.

We aim to approach the game with caution and determination, aiming to secure maximum points, but understanding that our season won’t be determined by a single result.”
