Breaking: An Insider Reveals Multiple Contract Extension Sources After Jordan Love Deal…

The Green Bay Packers are set to negotiate several contract extensions in the coming years, with Jordan Love’s deal expected to be finalized this offseason. Reports indicate that at least one more extension is on the horizon, with the team reportedly working on a significant deal for defensive lineman Kenny Clark.

Clark, a first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, has been a key player for the Packers since joining the team. Known for his strength, awareness, and quickness, Clark has been a disruptive force in the backfield throughout his career, tallying 379 total tackles, 47 tackles for loss, and 34 sacks in eight seasons. He is coming off a career-best 7.5 sacks and is entering the final year of a four-year, $70 million deal signed in 2020.

The Packers view Clark as a crucial piece of their defensive front, alongside Rashan Gary. However, there are rumblings that the team is preparing for the possibility of life without Clark, as he enters his ninth season in 2024. Despite his Pro Bowl pedigree and recent success, the Packers have historically been cautious about offering third contracts to non-quarterbacks. The team could look to lower Clark’s $27.49 million cap hit for this season by offering him a long-term extension.

To potentially offset the loss of Clark, the Packers have shown interest in the rookie defensive line class. Ohio State’s Michael Hall Jr. and Northern Iowa’s Khristian Boyd are two prospects the team has targeted. Hall, who is projected as a potential second-round pick, boasts an impressive pass-rush win rate and could help fill the void left by Clark’s potential departure. Boyd, who has met with the Packers multiple times, could also be a target to bolster the team’s defensive line.

Overall, the Packers are focused on securing their key players for the future, with Clark’s extension being a top priority this offseason.
