Breaking: Chicago Bears Target Trade For No.2 Pick, Off Caleb Williams in NFL Draft…

The Chicago Bears are eyeing USC’s Caleb Williams as their top pick in the NFL draft, but GM Ryan Poles could shake things up. Despite Williams being the top prospect, the Bears showed interest in Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy and LSU’s Jayden Daniels, last season’s Heisman Trophy winner. Chicago’s need for a QB intensified after trading Justin Fields to the Steelers.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report suggested a trade with the Washington Commanders, where the Bears would swap the top pick for the Commanders’ No. 2 pick and a second-round pick. This move would allow Washington to secure Williams, a local hero, while the Bears could target another top QB.

Washington is open to trade offers for the No. 2 pick, but coach Dan Quinn indicated they’re close to finalizing their draft board. The Bears must convince Washington that they’ll select Williams if they don’t trade, potentially requiring more than just a second-round pick from the Commanders.

If the Bears prefer another QB over Williams, like Daniels or Drake Maye, they could leverage Washington’s interest in Williams to secure a favorable trade. Despite the risk, acquiring Williams could be the key to jumpstarting the Commanders’ new era.
