Breaking: Brooks Lee Left Twins spring training game Due to Injury ;Max Kepler, Jorge Alcala are Fit After Injury scares…

Max Kepler and Jorge Alcala, Minnesota Twins players, are both doing well after recent injury scares. Kepler was scratched from a game due to left pectoral tightness but is fine after a magnetic resonance imaging exam showed no concerning issues. Alcala, a reliever, exited a game after a line drive hit his pitching hand, but X-rays showed no fractures, though his fingers were numb.

The good news comes after a string of injuries for the Twins, including Anthony DeSclafani possibly missing the entire 2024 season due to elbow issues. Jhoan Duran has an oblique strain, Caleb Thielbar has hamstring tightness, and Zack Weiss is on the injured list due to a shoulder injury. However, Weiss has started throwing again.

Twins prospect Brooks Lee left a spring training game due to a lower back spasm after playing one inning. He is expected to start the season at Class AAA St. Paul. Despite a strong comeback attempt, the Twins lost 9-8 to the Washington Nationals’ prospects, with James Wood hitting a walk-off homer and Dylan Crews delivering a walk-off single.

Alex Kirilloff and Kyle Farmer had two hits each in the game. Daniel Duarte, a nonroster invitee for the Twins, impressed with four strikeouts in two innings. Cole Sands started but struggled, allowing four runs in two innings, while Josh Staumont gave up two runs and two walks in one inning.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli expressed satisfaction with Duarte’s performance, highlighting his effectiveness despite challenging conditions. The Twins now have an 8-16-3 record in spring training, with just one win in 13 road games.
