Exclusive: An NFL Analyst Makes Bold Prediction Regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Quarterback Situation…

An NFL analyst has offered a bold prediction regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback situation. While the prevailing expectation is for Russell Wilson to start with Justin Fields as his backup for spring and summer workouts, there’s skepticism about the long-term stability of this arrangement.

Nick Wright, the analyst in question, shared his forecast during an appearance on The Herd, suggesting that while Wilson may begin the season as the primary quarterback, his tenure in that role might not last. Wright expressed his belief that Wilson could find himself benched at some point during the season.

Wright disagreed with host Colin Cowherd’s assessment that Fields wouldn’t fit well with the Steelers. Instead, he argued that Fields is the better quarterback between the two and even pinpointed when he expects the transition to occur.

According to Wright, Fields is in a favorable position as Wilson’s performance has declined, citing a highlight reel where Wilson was tackled by Jerrod Mayo, now the head coach of the Patriots. Wright anticipates Wilson starting Week 1 but envisions Fields taking over around Week 7 or 8 and remaining the starter thereafter.

Comparatively, Fields has a less impressive win-loss record as a starter in the NFL (10-28), but at 25 years old, he has more room for growth than the 35-year-old Wilson, who hasn’t had a winning season since 2020, raising doubts about his immediate impact with the Steelers.
