BREAKING: ARGOS WELCOME TWO NEW AMERICAN PLAYERS…

 The Toronto Argonauts Football Club has confirmed the signing of American linebacker Khalan Tolson and American wide receiver Trea Shropshire.

Tolson, aged 24, showcased his talent with 76 tackles and one sack for the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in 2023, following his stint with the Carolina Panthers in 2022, where he joined the NFL team in May of that year.

Standing at 6’0 and weighing 235lbs, the Florida native played four seasons at The University of Illinois (2018-2021), amassing 128 tackles, 10 for loss, 2.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble in 28 games.

Shropshire, aged 23, recently featured for the D.C. Defenders of the UFL and participated in mini-camps with the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings in 2023. Prior to this, the 6’3, 195lb receiver was picked in the eighth round of the USFL Draft by the Memphis Showboats in 2022.

Originally from Louisiana, Shropshire played three seasons at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (2020-2022), where he accumulated 78 receptions for 1,936 yards and 15 touchdowns across 34 career games. He attended Blinn College before transferring to UAB.

Additionally, the team announced the retirement of Canadian wide receiver Richard Burton.”
