Breaking: Detroit Pistons commit 18 Turnovers as they lose to Heat by 13…

The Detroit Pistons fell short against the Miami Heat, losing 108-95 despite early benefits from solid shooting by Fontecchio. Fontecchio scored seven points in the first quarter and continued his hot streak into the next, finishing with 24 points, including five three-pointers, and six rebounds. However, Detroit’s backcourt duo of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey struggled initially, shooting 3-for-12 collectively.

Evan Fournier led Detroit’s bench scoring with 12 points, while James Wiseman added six points and seven rebounds. Miami’s Bam Adebayo contributed 22 points and nine rebounds, with a notable third-quarter block. Duncan Robinson scored 16 points, hitting four three-pointers.

The game remained tight until the third quarter, where Miami took a 15-point lead. Terry Rozier, despite shooting 5-for-15, finished with 18 points and five rebounds for Miami. Jimmy Butler scored 14, Caleb Martin contributed 18 off the bench, and Thomas Bryant added 11 points and five rebounds.

Turnovers were a major issue for the Pistons, committing 18 that led to 33 points for the Heat. Pistons head coach Monty Williams described the turnovers as “demoralizing.” Miami also dominated in the paint, outscoring Detroit 64-38.

The Pistons will face the Heat again on Sunday at Little Caesars Arena. Tip-off is at 3 p.m.
