“He had a huge part in that” – Houston Rockets’ Coach Finally Breaks Silence Amid Alperen Sengun Severe Injury in Win Against Kings…

Houston Rockets’ Alperen Sengun had to be assisted out in a wheelchair following a distressing fall in their 112-104 victory against the Sacramento Kings.

The incident occurred in the closing minutes of the game as Sengun landed awkwardly on his right leg while attempting a block on the Kings’ Domantas Sabonis. The big man, visibly in pain, held his right knee on the floor and received immediate medical attention.

Coach Ime Udoka, despite the win, acknowledged the significance of Sengun’s contribution to the game and mentioned that the player was undergoing an X-ray, with further details on the results awaited.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, an MRI scheduled for Monday aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of Sengun’s prognosis. As the leading scorer for the Rockets this season, Sengun finished the game with 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists.

Despite the unfortunate conclusion to the match, the Rockets secured their third consecutive road victory, marking their fourth win in five games. Fred VanVleet led the team with 22 points, four rebounds, and nine assists, supported by Jalen Green, who contributed 19 points, two rebounds, and three assists. Notably, seven Rockets players scored in double digits.

Although the Rockets trailed by five points at halftime, a dominant third-quarter performance, where they outscored the Kings 32-14, paved the way for their comeback. The team shot 11/24 compared to the Kings’ 4/16 during that quarter.

With a current record of 29-35, the Rockets occupy the 11th position in the Western Conference standings. Their next challenge will be an away game against the San Antonio Spurs at the Frost Bank Center.
