Breaking: Weighing the Possible Potential Destination of Released Vikings’ Running Back…

Should the Browns pursue Alexander Mattison, who has been recently released by the Vikings? Numerous uncertainties surround the Browns’ running back situation, ranging from contractual considerations to potential draft picks and free-agent signings.

If the Browns opt for the latter, Alexander Mattison emerges as a viable candidate. Boasting a background from Boise State, Mattison served as a backup to Dalvin Cook during his initial four seasons in Minnesota, starting just six games. Despite his limited starts, he managed to accumulate a commendable 1,670 yards on 404 carries, averaging 4.1 yards per carry, and scoring 11 touchdowns during those seasons.

In the 2023 season, Mattison seized the opportunity to start for the Vikings following Cook’s departure. Starting in 13 out of 16 games, he ranked 32nd in the league for total rushing yards with 700 on 180 carries, maintaining an average of 3.9 yards per carry. Notably, Mattison didn’t score any rushing touchdowns but contributed with three receiving touchdowns.
